Counsellor in Balham, Wandsworth, South West London

** Please note that due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the social distancing measures that are in place, for the foreseeable future I am NOT working face-to-face with clients. During these challenging and uncertain times, it's even more important to look after your own and your family's mental health, and to seek help when needed - there is a list of COVID-19 resources on my Fees & FAQ's page - and I am also able to offer ADULTS sessions online via Zoom or VSee. Unfortunately, I am not able to work with children and young people at this point in time. **

Welcome to my private practice.

I am a fully qualified counsellor/psychotherapist and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I provide one to one counselling for adults and children from my therapy room in Balham, Wandsworth, which is conveniently located to serve the surrounding areas of Tooting, Clapham, Wandsworth and Streatham.

Most of us encounter difficulties at points in our lives and I understand that we can find ourselves struggling to cope with our feelings and experiences. Whatever it is that you are struggling with, talking things through can help you to better understand and cope with life's complexities.

What can I offer you?

I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and change, and I aim to facilitate this by providing you with a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space in which you can talk in confidence about the difficulties that you are experiencing. This can offer relief from emotional distress, as well as increased self awareness and new understanding, which creates an opportunity for positive change.

I have been practicing for several years and I am experienced in working with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Stress and burn-out
  • Anger
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Addiction
  • Trauma and abuse
  • Perinatal depression and anxiety
  • Parenting and parenthood

Also providing counselling for children and adolescents

I am also an experienced school counsellor and have extensive knowledge and experience of working therapeutically with children and adolescents through the mediums of play, creative work and talk. Some of the problems that I have helped children with include:

  • Bullying
  • Anxiety
  • Self-harm
  • Parental separation and divorce
  • Transitions - including the transition from primary school to secondary school
  • Bereavement
  • Relationships
  • Exam pressure and stress
  • Behavioural issues

Further information on how I work with children and what I offer can be found on my counselling children page.

My work is not limited to the above issues, and I strongly believe that each of us is unique and brings with us a unique life experience and way of seeing the world. I aim to value this in my work by honouring your or your child's individuality and working alongside you or them without judgement or interpretation.
